Lee County School District proudly announces that Superintendent Bernard McDaniel Sr. and Lee Central High School Principal Kevin D. Wilson have received statewide honors from the South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association (SCAAA) for the 2025-26 school year.
McDaniel has been selected as the SCAAA 3A/2A/1A Superintendent of the Year, while Wilson has been selected as the SCAAA 1A Principal of the Year. These recognitions highlight their exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment to student success, and dedication to advancing education-based interscholastic athletics.
McDaniel's leadership continues to elevate Lee County Schools through a strong focus on student achievement, equity and the expansion of opportunities for student-athletes. His vision and commitment have strengthened athletic programs across the district while ensuring that academic excellence remains the foundation of all initiatives.
Wilson's leadership at Lee Central High School has been instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, discipline and pride among students and staff. His dedication to supporting student-athletes and enhancing athletic programming has significantly contributed to the school's positive climate and statewide recognition.
Both leaders were selected for their commitment, dedication and service to students, student-athletes, and interscholastic programs throughout South Carolina. Their work exemplifies the mission of Lee County School District to provide high-quality educational experiences that prepare students for success both in the classroom and beyond.
McDaniel and Wilson were formally recognized at the SCAAA Spring Conference Annual Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, March 18, where education leaders from across the state gathered to celebrate excellence in athletic administration and school leadership.
