LCSD celebrates Lina Pearson, recipient of the 2026 SCABSE Support Staff Employee of the Year

BISHOPVILLE - Lee County School District congratulates Lina Pearson, media specialist at Lee Central Middle School, on being selected as a recipient of the 2026 South Carolina Alliance of Black School Educators (SCABSE) Support Staff Employee of the Year Award.

This distinguished recognition honors Pearson's outstanding leadership, commitment to educational excellence and unwavering dedication to serving students, families, schools and communities across South Carolina. Her selection reflects the positive impact she continues to make through her service and dedication to education.

In a letter announcing the award, SCABSE President Tasha Joyner commended Pearson's contributions, noting that her work "continues to inspire others and exemplifies the mission and vision of SCABSE."

As one of the state's distinguished honorees, Pearson will be formally recognized during the 2026 SCABSE Scholarships and Awards Jazz Brunch, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brookland Baptist Church Banquet and Conference Center.

Pearson's dedication to literacy, student engagement and educational support services has made a lasting impact on the students and staff of Lee Central Middle School. Through her work as media specialist, she has helped foster a learning environment that encourages academic growth, curiosity and a love of reading among students.

Her commitment to our students and school community is evident through her daily service and leadership.
