Lakeviya Clark, 26, affectionately known as "Kitty," was granted her angel wings Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020. Born in Sumter County on Feb. 10, 1994, she was the daughter of Lakeisha Clark and John Durant.

Lakeviya attended the public schools of Lee County. She was a member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, where she served as a member of the junior choir, junior usher board, praise dance team and later started performing mime dancing. She was very passionate about music, and she never met a stranger.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her two children, Zariah (Piper) Clark and Amara McFadden, both of Sumter; her parents, Lakeisha (Peaches) Clark of Sumter and John Durant of Ft. Pierce, Florida; grandmother, Evelyn Conyers of Sumter; five sisters, Jardiasha Clark of Sumter, Contrica Durant of Orlando, Florida, Yolanda Durant, Neshell Durant and Shanika Durant, all of Ft. Pierce, Florida; one brother, Demetrius Rolle of Ft. Pierce, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 3257 S. Darlington Highway, Sumter.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Memorial Garden, Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Raymond Cook, pastor of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, presiding, the Rev. Harry Clark, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Larry Clark and Rev. Debra Joe.

The procession will leave from the home at noon.
