Funeral services for Karalene Martin Robinson will be held at noon on Saturday at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 1093 Oswego Highway, Sumter, with the Rev. Charlie Thomas, pastor, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Interment will follow in New Hope Community Cemetery in Pinewood.

A public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Karalene was born on Sept. 28, 1965, in Sumter, to the late Henry "Bobby" Martin Sr. and Dorothy West Martin. She received her formal education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a faithful member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church - Oswego.

She was a loving mother, sister, "NaNa" and friend.

She was an avid sports fan, having played softball for nearly 20 years. She was also a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and had the opportunity to attend her first Steelers game this year. The tickets would serve as the last birthday present that her daughters were able to share with her on this side.

In addition to her parents, Karalene was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Martin Jr. and Kenny Martin.

Karalene departed this life on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, in Sumter.

Karalene is survived by three daughters, Joice (Jason) Johnson, Whitney Martin (Jamel McKnight) and Karlesa Martin (Lamonte Dunham); three brothers, Keith (Wendy) Martin, Kelvin Martin and Henry (Karen) Walker; four grandchildren, Khavari Dunham, Ja'Miyah McKnight, Jayden Johnson and Jordan Kelley; one niece, MyKiera Martin; one nephew, Rashawn Martin; two aunts, Virginia (Samuel) Fulmore and Juanita (John) Levy; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Whites Mortuary LLC is in charge of arrangements.
