MANNING - Elder Joseph "Joe" Young, 55, husband of Gloria Felder Young, of 2054 S. Brewington Road, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at his home.

Born March 11, 1955, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Adam Young and Osceola Robbins Young. He attended Philadelphia public schools.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and attended The Bible Study Temple of the World, and after relocating to Manning, he joined Israelite Holy Temple where he was later ordained an elder.

Survivors besides his wife of the home include three sons, Joseph (Syvita) Young Jr. of Pennsylvania, Laurence Felder and James Young, both of South Carolina; three daughters, Felicia Felder and Danielle Young, both of S.C., and Jacquline Young of Pennsylvania; five brothers, Jacob (Arlene)Young, David (Dellareese) Young and Joseph Hamilton, all of Philadelphia, Andrew (April) Young of Phoenix, and Adam Young of Washington, D.C.; eight sisters, Helen Brown, Sarah Young, Mary (Joseph) Jenkins, Mischal Young, Arlene (Earl) Grant, Sharleen Young, Lorely (John) Stallworth and Precious (Peter) Patterson, all of Philadelphia; two aunts; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2010, at the funeral home with the Apostle Robert Wilson presiding. Burial followed in Manning Cemetery.

The family received friends at the home.
