TURBEVILLE - Joseph Thomas Parker, age 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, after an illness.

Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late John Henry and Mary Louise Chandler Parker. Mr. Parker was a retired machinist and was of the Free Will Baptist of Pentecostal Holiness Faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faith Coker Parker; and a son, Rickey Parker.

Surviving are his daughter, Gloria (James) Gibbons of Turbeville; four sisters, Janie Anderson of Santee, Judy (Tony) McLaughlin, Mary Lou (James) Bryant and Eloise (Leroy) Bryant, all of Turbeville; two brothers, Carroll "Toby" (Janice) Parker of Lake City and Wilbur Russell (Marilyn) Parker of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Joel, Justin and Jennifer; one great-grandchild, Madyson; and 15 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Olive Grove Free Will Baptist Church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta.

The family would like to thank Dr. Priscilla Welch and her office staff along with Tri-County Hospice.
