JESSI JAMES PARNELL

Cody Lee Parnell, 17, and Jessi James Parnell, 14, of 1064 Arc Ave., Manning, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.

Born in Sumter, they were the sons of Vicki Lea and Joseph "Jay" Parnell and brother of Leah Beth Daly. They attended Laurence Manning Academy and loved participating in team sports, including football, baseball and track. They were avid outdoorsmen and were always fishing, hunting, boating, swimming, motorcycling, fourwheeling, golfing and living life to the fullest. They were inseparable to the end. They believed in Christ, and were baptized by the Rev. Ron Bower, pastor of the First Church of God, Sumter, where they were members.

Survivors besides their parents of Manning include their sister and her husband, John P. Daly Jr., of Shelby, N.C.; a nephew, John Luke Daly of Shelby; maternal grandparents, George and Rosalea Mitchell of Bemidji, Minn.; paternal grandmother, Sandra H. Parnell of Sumter; two aunts, Cheryl Harrington and her husband, Ronnie, of Sumter, and Pam Parnell and spouse, Laurie Whitcomb, of Blythewood; an uncle, Doug Mitchell of Madison, Wis.; and cousins, Carina, Camryn, Heather, Brad, Lydia, Brandon and Jenna.

They were preceded in death by their paternal grandfather, John Joseph Parnell.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at the Laurence Manning Academy football field with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating.

The family received friends at the school's gymnasium.
