HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Irene Bacot Flowers, 90, widow of Clyde L. Flowers, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in an Orangeburg nursing home.

Mrs. Flowers was born in Manning, a daughter of the late Paraneau Austin Bacot and Minnie Bell Bacot. She was a retired lunchroom supervisor from the Holly Hill public schools. Mrs. Flowers was an active member of the First Baptist Church and Ivy Garden Club.

Surviving are daughters Sandra (Jim) Jones of Sumter, and Annie Clyde (Reggie) Barnes of Oriental, N.C.; a brother, Ruffin "Nuggar" Bacot of Summerton; grandchildren, Jimmy (Shannon) Jones, Tim (Becky) Jones, Reggie (Kelly) Barnes Jr. and Diane (Jimmy) Knowles; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. David Brien and the Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery.
