George Paul "G.P." Goff Sr., 77, husband of Karen Lacy Barnhill Goff, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Jan. 25, 1945, in Pinewood, he was a son of the late Andrew Lloyd Goff and Louise Bradley Goff. He was a member of Wedgefield Baptist Church and was a retired insurance agent. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was his family.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years; two children, Pastor George Paul Goff Jr. (Sharon) of Wedgefield and Rhonda Goff Eubanks (Mike) of West Columbia; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally G. Yates of Sumter and Wanda McKenzie (Dean) of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Edward Goff; and three sisters, Shirley Goff Scott, Charlene Goff Buddin and Barbara Goff Kirven.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Wedgefield Baptist Church with the Pastor Paul Goff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jim Smoak, Jimmy Barwick, Jim Treme, Tommy Ardis, Sammy Poole and Glenn Ardis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at Wedgefield Baptist Church and other times at the home.
