Gloria Moore Frenz, 85, widow of Edward "Ed" Norman Frenz, died on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023, at Covenant Place.

Born on Oct. 29, 1937, in Olanta, she was a daughter of the late Robert Coke Moore and Clara Lewis Moore. Mrs. Frenz was a member of Sumter First Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. She retired from Industrial Electric after 54 years of service, where she served as office manager. She was also a member of the Gamecock Strutters and the Shaw Flying Squares.

Survivors include two children, Edward "Eddie" R. Frenz (Cindy) of Charleston and Debbie Lynn (Mike) of Sumter; four grandchildren, Edward Robert Frenz Jr. (Allie), Emily Frenz Botzis (Elliott), Katherine Stanley Sowders (Micah) and William "Wes" Shelton Stanley IV; four great-grandchildren, Bo Meyer, Tripp Sowders, Edward Frenz III and Emilia Sowders; one sister, Louise Kennedy of Turbeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Robert Moore, Leland Moore, Paul Moore and Lance Moore; and two sisters, Janis Brown and Kay Hicks.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dan Barber, the Rev. Dr. Bob Calvert and the Rev. Kevin Blalock officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
