EMILY ANN SLOCUM

Emily Ann Slocum, 90, wife of retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Edward A. Slocum Sr., died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital of natural causes.

Born Oct. 30, 1933, in Dillon, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ben Scott and Eula Bethea Scott. She retired from Allstate Insurance Co.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years; a son, Edward A. Slocum Jr. (Arlene); and grandchildren, John, Joseph and Joselind, all of Chicago, Illinois; a special niece, Lisa Martin (David) of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Hazel Miller of Lake View, South Carolina, and Mary Russell of Sumter; a brother, Ray Scott of Sumter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Lake View Cemetery in Lake View, officiated by the Rev. Steve Miller.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
