EDDIE BUDDIN

Eddie Buddin, 47, husband of Danielle Sotomayor Buddin, passed away too soon on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023.

Born on Sept. 18, 1976, he was a son of Tony (Pat) Buddin of Sumter and Flora (Bob) Thompson of Waynesville, North Carolina. Eddie was a successful businessman and entrepreneur in Florida as the owner of and contractor for Buddin Services specializing in roofing. Crafty as a salesman and skillful as a craftsman, he provided well for his family in his desire to make each of his children's wishes come true. His heart was full of joy and pride whenever he was around his grandchildren. He was in his element working and playing hard. Whenever he had free time, he loved to spend it on the ocean on his boat fishing, in the woods hunting, or kicking back with friends and family having a good time. His life was filled with contradictions: he loved to fish but didn't eat seafood; he hated flying but wanted to fly the plane; stubborn to a fault, but the first one there to stand by your side; and ultra-competitive but believed in paying it forward. He wasn't afraid to take risks, to go a little too fast, and to push the limits just a little too far. His crystal blue eyes and mischievous smile will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife and their children, Delilah and Blake of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; his children, Alana Buddin (Norman Medrano) of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Samantha Buddin (Josh Brigman) of Dillon from a previous marriage to Jessica Messer Lee of Florence; his grandchildren, Kayciee Brigman, Maggie Brigman and Joshua Ryan Brigman Jr.; his siblings, Timmy (Katie) Buddin of Sumter, Megan (Leo) Seamon of Sumter, Sarah (Brandon) Caples of Sumter, Kyndal (Chris) Moore of Sumter and Will (Avery) Mullen of Rock Hill; his nieces and nephews, Emily (Lincoln Winning) Buddin, Leo Charles Seamon IV, Lainey Rae Seamon, Keegan Caples, Kaytlin (Jaylen Gayle) Moore, Caleb Moore, Chandler Moore, Collin Mullen, Hudson Mullen, Haddie Sotomayor, Hayden Sotomayor, Holbrook Sotomayor and Hudson Sotomayor; and in-laws, Edgar and Dalynn Sotomayor and Justin and Melanie Sotomayor.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday at the home of Timmy and Katie Buddin, 985 Winkles Road, and at a later date in Port Saint Lucie.
