Domestic-related shooting in Sumter leaves 2 adults, 3 children dead

Two adults and three children are dead following what Sumter officers say appears to be a domestic-related shooting before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Whitetail Circle, a neighborhood off Loring Mill Road behind Christ Community Church.
Three children and two men, one of whom is believed to be the shooter, were found shot and killed, said Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department. There was at least one surviving individual at the scene, McGirt said. It is unknown if the person was related to victims.

No other information could be provided at this time. McGirt said there is no apparent threat to the public, and officers are continuing to investigate. Details will be released a later time.
