Clinton Jean Jackson, 87, died on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at NHC Healthcare in Sumter.

Born on July 26, 1934, in Missouri, he was a son of the late Walter Clinton Jackson and Imogene Bost Jackson. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force in the 1950's and served in Korea and South Carolina. He and his father owned a trucking business together, until his father passed. Clinton continued his trucking career, working for Kneece International Harvester and other trucking businesses throughout South Carolina and Georgia. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach.

Survivors include his children, Clinton Rance Jackson (Val) of Georgia, Sheila Jackson Benton (Mike) of Okinawa, Japan, Pamela Jackson McDuffie (Oscar) of Sumter and Angela Jackson Rosenmeier (Steve) of Sumter; a sister, Brenda Bahel of Georgia; grandchildren, Robert Dean Garrison III (Amanda), Caroline Jane Garrison, Clinton Bethea McDuffie (Meg), Zackary Max Benton, Thomas Gardner Jackson, Caleb Rance Jackson and Ryan Steven Rosenmeier; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Gardner Jackson; an infant son; a brother, James M. Jackson; a sister, Deborah L. Beard; and a grandson, Noah Jackson Benton.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sam Smithson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and following the service at the home of Angela and Steve Rosenmeier, 3255 Royal Colwood Court, Sumter.

The family would like to thank the staff of NHC Healthcare in Sumter for their loving support and care over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alice Drive Baptist Church Children's Playground, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
