Clarendon County man arrested on child porn charges

MANNING — A 28-year-old Clarendon County man was arrested Feb. 14 on 10 counts involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.

David Dwayne Womack of Olanta was arrested by investigators with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigators with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office assisted with Womack’s arrest.

A CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to Womack’s arrest and investigators finding multiple files of child pornography in his possession.

ICAC charged Womack with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree, a felony offense. If convicted, Womack faces up to 10 years in prison on each of the 10 counts.

Womack’s case will be prosecuted by the state Attorney General’s Office.
