BOOKER T. WASHINGTON

Booker T. "Book" Washington died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

He was born in Paxville, a son of the late James and Dorcus Brunson Washington.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Henry; and three sisters, Mamie, Lucille and Della.

In his youth, under the guidance of his parents, he became a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he grew up attending Sunday school and other activities of the church. Book attended Savage Glover Elementary School and Kendell High School. Later, he studied at Morris
