Barbara served as the payroll director of Richland School District 2 for over 20 years. She was a longtime member of St. Andrews Baptist Church.

Barbara’s greatest joy in life was her granddaughter, Brittany, and her great-grandson, Carson. She loved shopping, fashion, make-up, home decorating and going to the beach. She enjoyed working in the yard with Dan. Holidays were very important to Barbara.

Christmas was her favorite holiday when she would take gifts to friends and neighbors. In her later years, she liked watching college sports, especially the Gamecocks as a lifetime fan.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 66½ years, Dan; her daughter, Amy Hatfield and Amy’s fiancé, Robert Flores; her granddaughter, Brittany Windish; and her great-grandson, Carson. She is also survived by her brothers, Marvin Cannon (Cheryl), Jim Cannon (Kathy) and Joe Cannon (Dee); her sisters, Brenda Sightler (Wade) and Margaret Watson (John); and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Trybala; her son-in-law, Arthur Trybala; her sister Frieda Hunt; and her brother Sonny Compton.

Services for Barbara will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Andrews Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Ronald “Dee” Vaughn will officiate. Entombment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum will follow the service later in the day. The family will greet friends from 10 until 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a gift to the charity of your choice in Barbara’s memory.
