Sumter officers seek information in Thursday night shooting that injured 3

The Sumter Police Department seeks information from the public about a shooting Thursday night that left three injured.

Officers responded to a shooting call at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the El Cheapo on South Guignard Drive. Two male victims, ages 44 and 32, suffered injuries and were located at the store, said Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department. A third male victim, 37, also suffered injuries and was taken by personal vehicle to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, she said.

All three victims were treated for gunshot wounds and later released, she said.

Officers are working to determine what led to the shooting and identify the person(s) involved.
