ALCOLU – Two Sumter County men were killed in a single-vehicle wreck on S.C. 521 near Georgia Pacific, north of Alcolu, before 7 a.m. Saturday.
Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the two men as Deondre Morrow, 26, who was the driver of the vehicle, and his passenger, Charlie Brunson IV, 29.
“Autopsies are scheduled for next week at the Medical University of South Carolina,” Blackwell added.
According to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the two men were traveling north in a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban on U.S. 521 when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, overcorrected to the left, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
The site of Saturday’s crash is located just over a mile north of where a two-vehicle wreck claimed the lives of two other Sumter County residents early Thursday morning.
