MANNING –Two people were shot early Sunday morning while riding in a vehicle traveling east into Manning on Boyce Street.

“Both individuals were transported to McLeod Health Clarendon,” Manning Police Chief Keith Grice said. “One of them was then airlifted to McLeod hospital in Florence. I don’t know the extent of their injuries.”

Grice said the shooting occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. on Boyce Street near Walmart Superstore.

“Two vehicles were headed into Manning when individuals in one of the vehicles shot into the other vehicle,” Grice said. “We believe that the shooting was the result of a prior altercation between the people in the two vehicles.”

Grice said his department is investigating the shooting and that no arrests had been made as of late Sunday afternoon.

“We’re asking the public for information on the shooting,” Grice added. “All callers can remain anonymous.”
