1 wanted, 1 injured in connection to non-fatal shooting on Sunday in Sumter

Sumter Police Department is offering an up to $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest after a non-fatal shooting on Sunday.

Derrelle Antuan Brown, 36, of Sumter, is wanted on charges of attempted murder after an exchange of gunfire left a 31-year-old man injured, according to the police department.

The shooting occurred before 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the intersection of Lafayette and Crosswell drives. As officers responded, they learned the victim was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital by a personal vehicle.

Brown is considered armed, dangerous and should not be approached, the police department said.
