MANNING — The Rev. Benny L. McCants, 77, husband of Mary Samuels McCants, died Monday, April 29, 2024, at his residence, 1561 Lobolly Drive. He was born March 27, 1947, in the Cypress Fork Community of Manning, a son of the late Rev. Golden Burgess and Dorothy McCants Searson, and reared by his grandmother, the late Isabelle McCants.
The family will receive friends daily from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at his residence, 1561 Loblolly Drive, Manning.
Public viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St., Manning. A wake service will follow from 4 to 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Weldon Auditorium, 7 Maple St., Manning. Burial will follow in Cypress Fork AME Church Cemetery, 5994 N. Brewington Road, Alcolu. A repast will be held after the burial at The Breedin Room at Weldon Auditorium.
