Twenty Sumter County elementary, middle and high school students, who are either children or grandchildren of officers serving with Sumter Police Department, got to learn about their loved one’s jobs during an annual Shadow Day the department held Monday morning. Presentations were given on the functions of several departments, such as recruiting and traffic control. Bri Williams, a 9-year-old student at Alice Drive Elementary School, is guided by Sgt.
