HONEA PATH (AP) - Searchers in South Carolina have found a body in Lake Hartwell, where a boat with only a dog and phone had been found earlier.
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore told news outlets the body found about 7:30 a.m. Monday is thought to be that of the boater who was missing Sunday afternoon.
A helicopter and boats with sonar took part in the search.
The Department of Natural Resources said the boat had been found near a boat landing near Honea Path. Tony Spires with the Natural Resources Department said the body surfaced in a nearby cove.
The victim's name has not been released yet.
