Born on July 2, 1950, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Hugh and Rosa Lee Johnson Williams. He attended the public schools of Sumter County.
Left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Tammie (Andrew) Hickmon and Denise (Curtis) Rogers; four grandsons; sisters, Lillie (Jerome) Zinnerman, Senora (Waymond) Mumford, Rosa Mae (William) Peoples and Beverly Williams; brothers, Joseph Williams, Jimmy (Susan) McMillian and Moses Lowry; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc. The Rev. Joseph Ricks officiated, eulogist.
Services were directed by the management and staff of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter.
