Paul Joseph Acor, age 79, beloved husband of 47 years to Mary McIntosh Acor, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born in Pittsburgh, he was raised by his foster parents, the late John and Margaret Peters. After school, Paul joined the U.S. Air Force, where he became stationed at Shaw Air Force Base. After retirement, he worked for several insurance companies; Town and County Mobile Homes; Sumter School District 17 maintenance department, where he worked for 23 years; and went on to work part time at NAPA Auto Parts for nine years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two stepsons, Timothy Brauch and his wife, Allison, and Mike Brauch, all of Sumter; and two grandchildren, Hunter Blaze Brauch and Travis R. Brauch.

In addition to his foster parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Jeff Brauch.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday at Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Barber and the Rev. Charles Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at Bullock Funeral Home.
