NORMA HAUN HEDGECOTH BECK

Norma Haun Hedgecoth Beck, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully passed into glory at her home on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Born on Nov. 23, 1930, in Lee County, St. Charles, Virginia, Norma was the cherished daughter of Floyd Edward Haun and Lucy Mae Vaughn Haun. Throughout her life, Norma shared her love and faith with those around her as a Sunday school teacher and member at various churches, most recently at Crosswell Baptist Church. She was the devoted wife of the late James Willard “Jim” Hedgecoth for 31 years, and then of the late Richard Paul “Dick” Beck for 18 years. Norma worked in civil service for Shaw AFB and Fort Jackson but retired from Met Life Insurance Company.
Norma’s memory lives on through her daughter, Debbie Hudson, and son-in-law, Frank Hudson of Sumter. She leaves behind a legacy of love to her granddaughters, Jamie Wilson (Cameron) of Spartanburg and Paige Conant (Thomas) of Sumter, as well as several nieces and nephews, eight great-grandchildren, and special friend and caregiver, Viola Moses.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Timothy Hedgecoth; sister, Charlotte Carter; and brothers, Edward Haun and Larry Haun.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow the service in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crosswell Baptist Church, 604 Mathis St., Sumter, SC 29150, or a charity of one’s choice.
Though she has departed this earthly realm, Norma’s kindness and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
