Letter to the editor: Lawyer commercials on TV are redundant nuisances

Posted

I have been subscribing to The Item for years and have no complaints. I prefer a hard copy of the local news over the online option. I also have antenna television, and my complaint with it is the number of lawyer commercials shown. There are sooo many shown over and over that it drives me crazy!

A few months ago, I just happened to see some of them in real life. You see, I bought a pair of horses, a Morgan and a Morgan*. I needed to clean up some ground, located next to I-95, to make them a pasture. While I was doing this, my Poulan chainsaw quit on me and I got and cursed it and called it "A nasty poulo*."

I noticed several people were around watching the traffic like a "Hawk"*. As my wife was bringing me some water, she met a lady named Shelly and they chatted awhile. She said she would like to make Shelly Leak* soup; that it would give her great Joy* to do this for her.

Next thing I knew, there was a 10-car pileup and Those Thumbs Up Guys* were posing with their thumbs up!

As time lingered on and settlements were slow, mold turned their Bills Green*. So all the lawyers around sued for all they could get, including the kitchen Sink*.

From reading this gibberish, I hope you realize the effect these redundant and on-going nuisance commercials have on me. I saw only eight that day, but there are more out there. However, I do have some control - it's called a REMOTE. Maybe I'll take up reading.

(Each * denotes a lawyer or law firm.)
