HORACE GLOVER

Horace Glover, son of the late Caleb and Cornelius Glover, was born on Feb. 10, 1944, in Dalzell.  He entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Prisma Health Baptist Continual Care in Columbia. Horace attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Ebenezer High School, class of 1965.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until honorably discharged in 1972.
Horace worked as a driver for the South Carolina Department of Transportation for 10 years until his health declined and later became a 100% disabled veteran.
Horace enjoyed living life to the fullest doing whatever his soul desired. He gained in frequent flyer miles at Walmart and Goodwill.  Horace understood the value of family, therefore, he ensured he supported them 100% until he took his eternal rest.
Horace leaves to cherish is memories: one son, James Glover; two daughters, Diana (Broadus) Glover, Teresa (Raymond) Glover; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth Fulks, Danielle Fulks, Damian J. Fulks, Destiny Glover, Areyon Glover, Malik Glover, Jaivon Rubin, Jacaree Rubin, Budd Glover and Aaliyah Glover; one great-grandchild, Ariana McGee; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Glover; four brothers, James Glover, Eddie Glover, Roosevelt Glover and Eugene Glover; and two sisters, Annie Mae Generette and Loraine Mack.  
In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 269 Herbert Wilson Road, Dalzell.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams officiating.
The funeral procession will leave the home at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2024, in the Florence National Cemetery, 803 National Cemetery Road, Florence.
