HATTIE MAE SHAW-DUNCAN

Hattie Mae Shaw-Duncan, 68, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, after a long illness, under Agape Hospice Care.

Born on April 6, 1950, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Carolina Shaw Sr. and Maggie Martin Shaw. At an early age, she joined Mount Olive AME Church, where she was a faithful member. She was educated in the public schools of Lee County. She was employed for 22 years at Skyline MFG and 35 years at Mayo Suit World.

Hattie Mae married Hammie Lewis Duncan on July 29, 1967. To this union two children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 51 years, Hammie L. Duncan; one daughter, Sandra (Michael) Flournoy of Midway, Georgia; one grandson, Kristopher L. Duncan of Macon, Georgia; one brother, Carolina (Mazie) Shaw of Woodrow; 10 sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 68 Duncan Road, Rembert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Mount Olive AME Church, 2738 Woodrow Road (U.S. Highway 441), Woodrow, with the Rev. Dr. Friendly J. Gadson, pastor, and the Rev. Joe David Shaw Jr., eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Cooksfield Cemetery, JD Herriott Road, Dalzell.
