CONCORD, N.C. -- Gladys Blankenship Workman, 68, of 5603 Cress Road, Concord, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gordon Funeral Home, 8559 Cook St., Mount Pleasant, conducted by the Rev. Bill Nix. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Workman was born in Sumter, a daughter of the late Clarence Blankenship and Alice Andrews Blankenship. She was a retired registered nurse at Northeast Medical Center. She enjoyed basket weaving, gardening and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Curtis Workman; son, Darrell Lewis Workman of Kannapolis; daughter, Janice W. Cauble of Kannapolis; brother, Clarence Blankenship of Tennessee; sisters, Katie Bramlett of Florida, Ruth Allen, Elieen Lee and Vernell Corbett, all of South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Dara Elsie Cauble and Michael Wayne Workman.
