FRANCES LOUISE TRUETT LONG

MAYESVILLE - Frances Louise Truett Long, 86, widow of the Rev. Venning Long, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at her home.

Born on May 23, 1937, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Wilton C. and Macy Herrington Truett. She was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church and served her Lord along with her husband as Pentecostal Holiness pastors for 60 years.

Survivors include two children, Sandra Martin (Jerry) of Travelers Rest and Wanda Jordan (Tommy) of Mayesville; four grandchildren, Michele Hodge (Richard), Jeannie Jordan, Chelsea Martin Glissman (Christopher) and Adam Martin; seven great-grandchildren, Dacoda Hodge Smith (Casey), Ruby Edwards Hughes (Aaron), Mary Edwards, Stacy Joe Edwards, Montanna Prater, Ashley Prater and Jason Prater; and six great-great-grandchildren, Sawyer Hughes, Thomas Hughes, Harleigh Burke, Ryleigh Burke, Katie Smith and Emma Smith.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Maria Prater; a great-grandson, Jonathan Hodge; six brothers; and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Driggers, the Rev. Donnie Hearrell and the Rev. Larry Christopher officiating. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richie Hodge, Casey Smith, Aaron Hughes, Stacy Joe Edwards, Jay Prater and Adam Martin.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
