CHRISTOPHER W. STEELE

Christopher Wayne Steele, 43, died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville.

Born on April 6, 1975, in Sumter, he was a son of the late John W. and Cynthia Hicks Steele. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 86 and the S.C. Patriot Reserve. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting.

Survivors include two daughters, Megan Steele of North Carolina and Alyssa Steele of Sumter; a sister, Amanda Peak of Sumter; and four nieces, Kayla Taylor, Tori Peak, Morgan Peak and Blair Peak.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. Private burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
