NEW ALBANY, Indiana - Bryan Whitler, 44, of New Albany, passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1979, to Robert Whitler II and Mary Lee Snow (Whitler). Bryan was an engineering technician the Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville district, and was bestowed the Engineer Technician of the Year Award, as well as earning many other awards and recognitions. He completed missions as the inspector of quality assurance in various natural disasters. Bryan had a love of the outdoors and for his beloved dog, Margie Ann "Marge," who went with him everywhere.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Whitler II; and his beloved "Granny," Margie Leocadio.

Bryan's memory and life will be celebrated by his mother, Mary Lee (Whitler) Snow (Frank); brother, Robert "Bobby" Whitler III (Jessica); nephews, Robert "Allen" Whitler IIII and Chase Michael Whitler; uncles, Terrance "Terry" Walker and William Arthur "Artie" Walker (Sherry); aunts, Cheryl Walker-Burns and Patsy Catlett; his special cousin, Carlie Ann Zimmerman; former spouse, Amy (Andrews) Whitler; and many family members and friends.

Visitation for Bryan will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday with service at 3 p.m. at Smiths Grove United Methodist Church, 333 N. Main St., Smiths Grove, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smiths Grove United Methodist Church or Elk Creek Animal Hospital, 57 Commerce Drive, Fisherville, KY 40023.
