Alma Mae Pollard died peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the age of 104.

Born on Nov. 15, 1914, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Esaw and Eveline English Pollard. She was a member of Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the missionary board. She was a hard worker and served many years as a domestic worker.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Gloria (Ranson) Brunson of Rembert and Louise Myers of Paterson, New Jersey; a special grandson, Woodrell Pollard of Rembert; one sister, Lucille Williams of New York; special nephews, James (Rebecca) Pollard of New York, New York, George Pollard, David (Mattie) Pollard of Rembert, William (Maggie) Jenkins of Sumter and George Jenkins Jr.; special nieces, Lillian (Maybank) Smith of Rembert, Ethel P. Sanders of Sumter, Jessie Mae (Edward) Porcher of Dalzell and Mattie Lee Jenkins; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 4510 Dawson Road, Rembert.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5420 Black River Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Clifton Witherspoon, pastor, and the Rev. R.L. Williams, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at noon for viewing until the hour of service.

The funeral procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
