Police searching for burglary suspect

A local man is wanted on a burglary charge after police say he may have attempted to break into a house before being startled off by the homeowner.

Officers with the Sumter Police Department are looking for Deandre Randolph, 22, last known address 122 K St., is wanted for burglary-2nd degree.

Randolph is described as about 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs about 180 lbs. and has black hair and brown eyes.

Police were called to a Hoyt Heights residence after 8 a.m. Sept.

23.

The 22-year-old homeowner told police he was in bed when he heard a sound at the backdoor. When he got up to look, he discovered a man attempting to get in the house through the backdoor. Once the two made eye contact, the suspect fled in an

unknown direction.
