WILLIAM HENRY ADAMS

William Henry Adams, 77, husband of Pamela Rose Adams, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia.

Born March 25, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, he was a son of the late Sylvester M. Adams and Helen B. Henry Adams. Mr. Adams served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Sumter Laundry and Cleaners.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Debra Adams, Nicole Adams, Carrie Orning (Jason) and Julie Long (Paul); two grandchildren, Madison Long and Emmaleigh Long; one brother, James Adams; his special “adopted” daughters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Madigan.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
