WILLENE B. DOW

Willene Bosier Dow, 91, widow of John Dow Sr., died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born March 5, 1919, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Pastor Jim and Sarah Bosier. Mother Dow attended Clarendon County public schools. She received Christ at an early age and was a lifelong active member of Mount Hope FBH Church in Pinewood. Mother Dow was known for her cooking ability.

A daughter and four brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, George (Delma) Dow and John (Carolyn) Dow Jr., both of Pinewood; a daughter, Bertha (Nathaniel) Williams of Pinewood; a grandson she reared as her own, Anthony (Sarah) Williams of Sumter; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Jackson and Sarah Thompson, both of Thomasville, N.C., and Mattie James of Pinewood; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Jackson and Ben James; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10 at Mount Hope Fire Baptized Church in Pinewood. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Summerton Funeral Service.
