Wayne Arthur Busser, 81, husband of Maureen Elizabeth Carrig Busser, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at his home.

Born May 16, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Arthur Joseph Busser and Ethel Marie Smith Busser. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Study at the Sumter YMCA. He loved history, reading and walking in the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years; two children, Michael Brian Busser (Frances) of Dalzell and Patti E. Busser of Sumter; two granddaughters, Anjelica Lily Busser and Rachel Marie Busser; a brother, Kent Lawrence Busser (Mary Anne) of Port Royal, Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ruth Busser.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery. All attending are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
