PINEWOOD - Wayne Anthony "Cowboy" Johnson, 43, of 7115 Connection Road, husband of LaTonya Bradley Johnson, died Oct. 9, 2010, at his home.

Born April 20, 1967, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Lewis Robinson and Annie Mae Johnson. He attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Furman High School in 1985. He was a member of St. James AME Church, Pinewood, and a self-employed painter for many years.

Survivors besides his wife of Sumter include three sons, Tyler Johnson of Columbia and Denzel Johnson and Anthony Bradley, both of Sumter; two daughters, Brailey and Madison Johnson of Columbia; four brothers, Tory Johnson, Jessie Johnson and Dana (Pamela) Pugh, all of Pinewood, and Corey Robinson of Sumter; 10 sisters, Ella Nora (the Rev. Samuel) Benjamin, Joy Ann Johnson, Ophelia Robinson, Felicia Lester and Angela Benbow, all of Pinewood, Maggie (Albertus) Wright and Denise (David) Stephens of Sumter, Sherie Dow and Delphine Robinson of Augusta, Ga., and Deniece (CPO Robert) Brown of Suffolk, Va.; maternal grandmother, Annie Jane Johnson of Pinewood; and his father and mother-in-law, Nathaniel and Lubertha Bradley of Dalzell.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Dewayne Johnson; a daughter, Gleishia Johnson; a brother, Anthony Robinson; and two sisters, Claudette and Tina Robinson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Antioch UME Church in Rimini with the Rev. Jonathan Smith, pastor, and the Rev. Sylvester Morton officiating. Burial followed in Manning Cemetery in Pinewood.

The family received friends at the home of his wife, 3395 Ebenezer Road, Sumter, and the home of his brother, Jessie Johnson, 5945 Rooster Circle, Pinewood.
