A Manning man wanted on an attempted murder charge led Sumter and SLED authorities on a vehicle, then foot chase Thursday.

Raiquan York, 21, of Branchview Drive in Manning, has an outstanding warrant in connection to a shooting in Manning, according to Manning Police Department Chief Keith Grice.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Adrienne Sarvis said York was seen driving on Edmonds Drive on Thursday and accelerated toward Kolb Road in an attempt to evade officers. Sumter Sheriff’s Office was called to assist.

During the pursuit, York turned onto Livingwood Drive where he struck a parked vehicle, drove through a wooded area and fled on foot.

Shortly after, he was spotted on Starks Ferry Road riding in another vehicle with other occupants.

The second vehicle was stopped, and York was apprehended without incident, Sarvis said. The other occupants were released.

York was transported to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he was charged with failure to stop for a blue light and is awaiting a first appearance hearing.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division deputies assisted in the arrest and pursuit.
