Walton-Newman
EASTOVER - Corie Lorraine Walton and James Tyler Newman Jr., both of Sumter, were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Magnolia Way Venue.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wade Walton Jr., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse W. Brunson Jr., Ms. Shirley Walton and the late Mr. Robert "Bobby" W. Walton Sr., all of Sumter. She graduated from Laurence Manning Academy in 2018 and from Central Carolina Technical College with a degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse employed by Wesmark Ambulatory and Surgery Center in Sumter.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Tyler Newman Sr. of Manning and Ms. Mandy Brunson of Sumter, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Newman and Mr. Leonard Brunson, all of Sumter. He graduated from Lakewood High School in Sumter and Florence-Darlington Technical College in Florence with a degree in applied science-diesel technology. He is employed by Blanchard Machinery: Cat Heavy Equipment in Florence as a field-based diesel technician.
The Rev. John McLeod officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Mrs. Kipper Ackerman, harpist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of elegant organza fabric crafted into a feminine A-line silhouette with pleated, off-the-shoulder straps, a unique bow-inspired bust, exposed boning at the bodice, center back buttons to the hem and a full circle skirt leading to a cathedral-length train. She carried an elegant mix of pink, blue and white spring flowers of hydrangea, garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, delphinium and eucalyptus perfectly reflecting her bright and sweet personality.
Kristen Walton served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Burrows, Emily Robinson, Alyssa Walton, Adrianna McLeod, Samantha An, Morgan Frye, Macey Stokes and Emilee Byrd. Emma Newman, Bristol Raley and Lenora Ann Robinson served as flower girls.
Jamie Newman served as best man. Groomsmen were Tanner Newman, Coleby Newman, Hunter Newman, Brandon Tisdale, Emmett McCauley, Austin Rivers, Fred Brown and Cole Walton. Rowdy Brown and Granger Walton served as ring bearers.
Also participating were Hunter Hendrix and Blane Walton.
The bride's parents held the reception at the Magnolia Way Venue.
The bridegroom's parents held the rehearsal party at the Magnolia Way Venue.
Following a wedding trip to Sandals Barbados, St. Lawrence Gap, the couple resides in Sumter.
