Voting open for Hines Furniture Athlete of the Year

After another year of the Hines Furniture Athlete of the Week, the yearly bracket has officially arrived.

Voting for the Hines Furniture Athlete of the Year opened on Friday morning at https://www.theitem.com/athlete-of-the-year-2024.

The bracket consists of the 32 weekly winners from throughout the 2023-24 school year. Athletes from nearly every sport, from football to track and shooting sports, will now compete to be the Hines Furniture Athlete of the Year. The winner of the annual bracket will be celebrated at The Bobbys, The Sumter Item's Espys-style awards show, on June 20 at Sumter Opera House. The bracket for Hines Furniture Athlete of the Year will last for four rounds of voting. The first round runs until Sunday at noon, with the second round kicking off at midnight on Monday. The second round is open until Wednesday at noon. The third round, which will trim our field down to four finalists, runs from midnight on Thursday, June 6, until Saturday, June 8, at noon. You can vote for each matchup once per round.

Voting for the final four will begin on Monday, June 10, and will end on Friday, June 14, at noon. You can vote for the final four once daily.
