Vote now for Sumter Item's Top 20 Young Professionals Under 40 2022-23 contest

They are business leaders and teachers, creatives and bankers. They are entrepreneurs, managers, volunteers, nurses, the present and future leaders of the places we live, work, pray and play.

Nominations have closed on another group of the area's Top 20 Young Professionals Under 40, and voting is now open through Aug. 21. Vote for one person per day at www.theitem.com/20under40 to make sure your favorite professional is included in this year's class, which will be announced publicly in October.

Winners will be featured in the 2022-23 Top 20 Young Professionals Under 40 magazine, which is produced by The Sumter Item, and receive a free ticket to the winners reveal celebration on Oct. 13, which is organized by Young Professionals of Sumter and the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce.

All winners, former winners, nominees and community members are encouraged to attend the reveal event. Winners will be contacted ahead of time so they can be interviewed and photographed for the magazine, but they will not learn who their classmates are until the event.

Winners from previous years' contests are not eligible to win again, but they are listed in the magazine as past winners.

To be eligible, nominees must be under 40 years old as of Oct. 13. Final selections are determined by popular vote combined with a selection panel set up by The Sumter Item and Chamber.
