Vivian McFadden Rhodes, 69, of 2627 Black River Road in Gable, wife of Aaron Rhodes, died June 11 at her home.

Born Oct. 10, 1940, in Gable, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Lubertha Bing McFadden. She attendedClarendon County public schools. In her youth, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Melina Presbyterian Church. She served as an usher, deacon and a member of the Presbyterian Women Organization.

Survivors besides her husband of the home include two grandchildren, Robert McFadden Jr. of Gable and Woodrow McFadden of New York, N.Y.; two sisters, Ruth (Absolum) McFadden of New Zion and Leatha McFadden of Alcolu; and four brothers, Bobby McFadden and Verndulopha McFadden, both of Alcolu, Joseph McFadden of Gable and Ervin (Catherine) McFadden of Manning.

The casket was placed in the church one hour prior to services, which were held June 16 at Melina Presbyterian Church, 3539 Black River Road, Sardinia, with the Rev. Carnell Hampton, pastor, officiating. Burial was held in the churchyard cemetery.

The family received friends at the home.

TERRANCE D. SESTOKAS Sr.

Terrance David Sestokas Sr., 59, husband to Rose Newsom Sestokas, died June 15 at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a son of David Sestokas and the late Beatrice Schwartzmiller Sestokas; he was a stepson of the late Rose H. Sestokas. He was in the Air Force for 20 years, serving in Vietnam, and worked Operation Homecoming at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines for returning prisoners of war. He was honorably discharged in 1989. He worked for the state Department of Corrections for 15 years, serving at Columbia Correctional Institute, State Park, Lee Correctional Institute and Turbeville Correctional Institute. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Wedgefield Volunteer Fire Department. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbia and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Manning, where he was active in the lay ministry.

Survivors besides his wife of 38 years include two sons, Terrance D. Sestokas Jr. and fiance, Rose Brotherton, of Sumter and Matthew P. Sestokas and his wife, Terri, of Wedgefield; three brothers, Richard Sestokas and his wife, Teresa, of Akron, Ohio, David Sestokas and his wife, Mary, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Anthony "Tony" Schwartzmiller and his wife, Rachell, of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Susan Warwick and her husband, Tim, of Chesapeake, Va., and Debbie Watson of Pairview Heights, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Christopher David and Payton Elizabeth.

Funeral services were held June 19 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Manning with the Rev. David R. Whitman and Deacon Chuck Walsch officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Florence National Cemetery at a later date.
