United States Army Central Soldiers gathered at their Shaw Air Force Base headquarters on Friday, June 14, to celebrate the 249th U.S. Army Birthday with a ceremonial birthday cake cutting by the oldest and youngest Soldiers as well as the unit’s senior officer and non-commissioned officer.

The event was hosted by Maj. Gen. Henry Dixon, USARCENT Deputy Commanding General, who was joined by several community leaders including the former USARCENT Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Dostie.

Since its establishment in 1775, U.S. Army Soldiers, families and Army civilians have supported our nation, bearing true faith and allegiance to the country, the U.S. Constitution, the Army, their units and fellow team members.

Happy Birthday to the U.S. Army – a storied symbol of honor, strength and the limitless possibilities that come with service to our country.
