Unclaimed winning lottery ticket sold in Sumter Friday worth $100K

Someone in Sumter got $100,000 richer on Friday but may not have yet realized their new fortune.

A winning Palmetto Cash 5 lottery ticket was bought Friday at the Quick Corner at 1063 Manning Road in Sumter and has not been claimed. The ticket matched all five numbers drawn Nov. 12, which were 2, 3, 17, 30 and 34 with a Power-Up number of 2.

The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.

The odds of winning $100,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 501,942.

More than 5,900 ticket holders will win prizes from $1 up to $100,000 in Friday’s drawing. More than 4,400 of these spent an extra $1 to purchase the Power-Up multiplier and will have winnings multiplied by two when claimed.

Net proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retail commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services.
