Tickets for Sumter School District home football games to be sold in advance

All of the tickets for Sumter School District home football games will be sold in advance, according to COVID-19 game guidelines released by the district on Monday.

Gates will open one hour prior to start time for all of the home games at Sumter High School's Memorial Stadium, Crestwood's Donald L. Crolley Memorial Stadium and Lakewood's J. Frank Baker Stadium. However, there will be no tickets sold at the gate.

Crestwood and Lakewood will both be at home on Friday. Crestwood will be playing host to Lake City, while the Gators will take on Aynor.

Sumter is on the road the first two weeks. The Gamecocks will travel to Myrtle Beach on Friday to face Socastee and will go to Rock Hill High the following week.

Lakewood will allow a maximum of 2,500 fans into its stadium. Tickets will be on sale to the public on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the school gymnasium's foyer.

Crestwood will allow 2,000 into its stadium. Tickets will be on sale in the school's main office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day starting on Tuesday and running through Friday.

All spectators will be required to wear face coverings and adhere to physical distancing at all times. They must remain six feet apart in the stands unless sitting with members of their household.

There will be no tailgating or pre-game activities allowed. No gatherings on or around the field will be allowed at the conclusion of the games, and spectators must go directly to their vehicles and leave the grounds.

Following this week, tickets will be available for purchase to parents of players, band members or cheerleaders on Monday of that week's home contest. Starting on Tuesday, tickets will be available to the public.

The release also stated the school district will be moving to a digital ticketing model in the near future.

SUMTER SCHOOL DISTRICT 2020-2021 SEASON COVID-19 GAME GUIDELINES

Sumter School District will adhere to strict safety guidelines and meet all requirements mandated by South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) by implementing the following procedures:

- ALL spectators will be required to wear face coverings and adhere to physical distancing at ALL times.

- Spectators are required to physical distance and must remain six feet apart in the stands unless sitting with the same members of their household.

- Tailgating or pre-game gatherings are not permitted.

- SCHSL states that spectators must park, exit their vehicles, and then go directly to their seats after entering the stadium. There will be no gathering on or around the field at the conclusion of games. Spectators must go directly to vehicles and leave the grounds.

- The Clear Bag Policy will be enforced.

- Gatherings on the field, court, and/or parking lot prior to or after the games are not permitted. Spectators must exit the gym/stadium immediately after the end of the contest.

- All staff/spectators are required to stay home if they have a fever or feel sick.

- Spectators will not cross from one side of the stadium to the other during the contest to limit communities from interaction.

- Every other stall will be available in the restrooms.

- Any student in kindergarten through eighth grade who purchases a ticket will only be allowed to enter with a paying adult.

- Concessions will be available with limited, pre-packaged menu items.

FOOTBALL TICKET PRESALE PROCEDURES:

- All tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the gate.

- Parents of players, band members, and cheerleaders will be allowed first "right of purchase" on the Monday of game week. Tickets not purchased on Monday may be purchased during general sales. Parents who do not purchase tickets on Monday are not guaranteed a ticket to the event.

- General admission tickets can be purchased from the individual schools beginning Tuesday of each week. See the individual school for exact dates, times, prices, and purchase locations.

- District ID's will not be accepted at the gate this year for entry.

- SCHSL pass tickets must be confirmed via email with the Athletic Director by Wednesday at noon. The Athletic Director will confirm submissions back via email.

- Gates will open one hour prior to start time.

- Individuals must wear a face covering and remain at least 6 feet apart when waiting in line.

- There will be no student section, reserved seating, or reserved parking.

- Any delay that occurs during halftime or after that requires the evacuation of the stadium spectators will not be allowed to reenter the stadium upon the resumption of play.

PROCEDURES FOR TICKET PURCHASES FOR OTHER FALL SPORTS:

- Tickets for Volleyball, B Team Football, and JV Football events can be purchased at the main gate beginning 45 minutes before each event.

- Individuals must wear a face covering and remain at least 6 feet apart when waiting in line.

- There will be no student section, reserved seating, or reserved parking.

Sumter School District will move to a digital ticketing model in the near future. Additional information will be provided on how to purchase and redeem tickets in this model.
