DURHAM, N.C. - Thelma Roberson Trembley, 85, widow of William L. "Tex" Trembley Sr., formerly of 659 Henderson St., died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Duke Hospice in Durham.

Born Nov. 15, 1924, in the Puddin' Swamp area of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Erby Cleveland Roberson and Lizzy Roberson. Mrs. Trembley was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church and worked for Brody Brothers Enterprises - Capitol Department Store- for 53 years as office manager/bookkeeper.

Survivors include a son, William L. "Billy" Trembley Jr. and wife, Phyllis, of Bahama, N.C.; grandchildren, William L. "Trey" Trembley III, John Scott Trembley and wife, Lori, Melissa Meredith Schiano di Sciorro and husband, Antonio, Jamey Elizabeth Trembley, Brittany Tyler Trembley and Heather Leigh Trembley; a great-grandson, Luciano S. Schiano di Sciorro; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Trembley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, James "Jimmy" Michael Trembley and his wife, Denise; two brothers, Oliver Roberson and Bill Roberson; and one sister, Gladys Weatherly.

Funeral services were held Aug. 22 at Grace Baptist Church in Sumter with Dr. James R. Chandler officiating. Burial was held in Evergreen Memorial Park.
