A vaccine clinic scheduled for Friday at Mt. Olive AME Church, 2738 Woodrow Road, in Sumter, still has appointments open.

South Carolina had been in Phase 1B for the COVID-19 vaccine, which includes frontline workers with increased occupational risk such as school staff, daycare workers, manufacturing workers, grocery store workers, law enforcement officers; individuals 55 and older; those 16-54 with certain high-risk medical conditions; and others. However, beginning today, all South Carolinians aged 16 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and can begin scheduling their appointments.

Currently, Pfizer is the only vaccine available to those aged 16-18. All three vaccines - Pfizer, Moderna and J&J/Janssen - are available to those aged 18 and older.
